ExtStationXML Loading to SIS

SIS is currently accepting files using the ExtStationXML version 2.1.

The ExtStationXML schema is an extension to the FDSNStationXML schema. It allows hardware and response to be described in detail and provides a way to interlink the channel, hardware and response and installation information. The ExtStationXML is the recommended format for loading data into SIS.

Once you have your login and are ready to test a load file,

  • Login to SIS, and click on the "Upload Station XML File For Data Load" link.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to upload your XML file.
  • Once your file is uploaded, the UI will start a background task to process the file. The XML validator and loader will be executed in the background process.
  • The results from the loader will be e-mailed to you.
  • If desired, we can delete your uploaded metadata, so you can upload another test file. To request a deletion, e-mail sis-help@gps.caltech.edu
